I have made a number of friends over the past 30 years through lectureships. Rick Brumback is one of them. While we have only visited briefly here and there, I have formed nothing but favorable impressions of him. He is pleasant in demeanor, well versed in the Bible, and he has advanced his learning through formal education. He is, currently, the Director for the Southwest School of Biblical Studies in Austin, Texas. They are blessed to have him there.
Rick has ventured into Virtual Publishing with a book he authored titled, The Incredible Century. I downloaded a sample of it through Apple’s iBookstore, and then purchased the book. It is interactive. Each chapter begins with an introductory video. Scattered throughout the book are slideshows. He even has some interactive graphics of objects that can be manipulated to spin 360 degrees.
The Incredible Century is a survey of the 1st Century and the books of the New Testament. It has 13 chapters which makes it ideal studying in a Sunday Bible class. You can also hook your iPad or other tablet up to a digital projector so the entire class can benefit from the graphics dimensions of this book. And there is much more.
My description is not doing justice to this work. To appreciate it, if you have an iPad or an iPad Mini, you must go to the iBook app and click on “Store.” Search for the book by its title or by Rick’s name, “Richard Brumback.” Download a sample of it. If you have some other kind of tablet, you can access the book through Apple’s iTunes.
Watch for other releases from Anchor Digital Publishing very soon. The next book is by Kyle Butt and John Farber.
